I got married this week to my partner of 10 years (and in a snow storm which was fun). This one is a bit of a script flip that forces people to think:

What type of work do you not do at all or greatly dislike?

Most people will say they can and will do anything, which I think is a cop out. There is a trend in technology to put more and more roles under fewer and fewer hats. Full Stack, DevOps and DevSecOps (especially that last one) are my favorite examples.

This is a curveball interview question I like to ask.

What, in your opinion, is the biggest insider threat faced by development or operations groups today?

People usually flounder when asked this question as it’s not common. Technical answers are easy; unaddressed debt, zero day exploits, OWASP top 10, etc.

While there are a few answers I’ll accept, there’s a specific one I’m looking for: Resume Driven Development

If you’ve spent any time doing architecture work in AWS, you’ll at some point run into NAT Gateway fees. NAT Gateways are a hands-off way of adding internet access to a private VPC, but at the low end they’re pricey.

You also have the option of running your own NAT Instances. AWS has documentation for some of it here, though you shouldn’t use their AMIs as they’re quite old:
